Troop 505 Lumber River Canoe Weekend Planning Meeting Aug 31

Our next Troop meeting will be this Wednesday, August 31st, 6:30-7:30pm. In addition to continuing work on our Camping Merit Badge, we will will be finalizing all plans for our the Lumber River Canoe Weekend on September 2nd-4th.

The Scouts of Troop 505 will finally have the long awaited canoe adventure along the Lumber River.  Last year this trip was changed because of water levels, but the this year the Troop will have another chance. Scouts will camp on Friday and Saturday night at the group camp site at the Princess Anne River Access. On Saturday morning, the troop will shuttle to the Boardman River access off of highway 74 outside of Orrum. The Troop will then canoe back to camp at Princess Anne. This 8 mile canoe trip will take the scouts through a ‘wild and scenic’ portion of the river. We will be working together as Troop to complete the remaining requirements for the Camping Merit Badge during this adventure.

To see the USGS Gage at Boardman for water levels.
