Orange District Order Of The Arrow Tap-Out Ceremony Mar 2

The Campfire Story

Troop 505 2013 OA Nominees

As you all know, troop elections have been held earlier than usual this year. This is because the Lodge is offering an opportunity for candidates to go through their Ordeal at Spring PowWow so they are able to attend the Section OA Conclave in April at Camp Durant. We currently planning to have our Tap-Out Ceremony at the American Legion (1714 Legion Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27517) on Saturday March 2nd at 6:30 pm.  This is where we will announce the successful candidates from the troop elections.   While the candidates are being briefed, Troop 505 will be doing a flag retirement ceremony.

The campfire program will probably take about 30-45 minutes.

Scoutmasters, please arrive at 6:15 so you can verify the names on our list and whether or not they will be present.  This helps us make certain we do not miss anyone.

We are watching the weather…. and working on plan B.  We will send emails/call SMs by noon Saturday if the location changes due to weather.

Troop 505 OA Brothers

We need you all to come out to the Legion at 3:30 to help set up for this event. If you can come to help set up AND be a torch bearer, please send me an email at stephen.c.nuttall@gmail.com  asap but by Thursday, February 28. All Troop 505 Scouts who were nominated for the Order of the Arrow Ordeal a few weeks ago need to be in attendance March 2 for the Orange District OA Tap-Out Ceremony. This is the ceremony normally held at the camporee with torches, campfire, and much pomp and circumstance. It is a great thing to watch. The OA will announce who has been elected at this ceremony, so bring your boy in full uniform and watch a great show.
