Troop 505 is Shakori District’s Centennial Troop, founded in 2010 and named in honor of the 100 year anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America. Like the American Legion we are deeply seated in our community, mutual helpfulness, patriotism, honor and tradition. Our Troop and their families consider it a privilege to have the chartered support of our Veterans. Troop 505 was named in honor of Troop 5, established 1928, the first Boy Scout Troop ever chartered in Chapel Hill, NC.
