February 7th – Raven Rock Preview

So Much Concern
This Wednesday Troop 505 will meet at the American Legion in Chapel Hill.

At this meeting we will be previewing our campout at Raven Rock this weekend.

Scouts should come prepared with the complete load out for the camp out.

They should include: backpack, sleeping arrangement, cook set, food, clothes, etc.

With any remaining time we will play a game of some sort or just clean our toenails. (A scout is clean)

February 1st – PLC + Advancement

On February 1st the Troop will meet at the Legion in Chapel Hill.

Patrol Leaders and Assistant Patrol Leaders should arrive at 6:30 for the PLC.

The regular meeting will begin at 7pm and we will be focusing on advancement / ranking up.

Please bring your Scout Handbooks and come with an idea of what things you’d like to work on to achieve your next rank.

January 11th – Planning for Campout

On January 11th Troop 505 will meet at the American Legion in Chapel Hill, NC.

At this meeting we will discuss the upcoming campout at the Legion on Saturday, January 14th.

Items to discuss:

  • What to bring/wear
  • Sleeping arrangements
  • Plans for pioneering skills
  • Plans for the winter activity. (Hopefully Curling at Triangle Curling)

January 4th – PLC + Spring Campout Planning

Men of TomorrowOn January 4th we will have a Troop meeting at the legion.

– 6:30pm Patrol Leader Conference

  • – 7:00pm Troop Meeting

During the meeting we will review proposals for our spring trips.  All scouts who were asked to do research should come prepared to talk about their research.

(January 4th) PLC + Planning Our Spring Outings

On January 4th Troop 505 will me at the Legion.So Much Concern

Patrol Leaders and Assistant Patrol Leaders should arrive by 6:30 pm as we will have a Patrol Leader’s Conference before the regular meeting.

All other scouts should arrive by 7 pm.

At the meeting we will discuss our Spring outings, campouts and adventures.  If you have been asked to research an outing or location please come prepared to discuss your topic.

Celebration for Scoutmaster West

At our next meeting on December 14th we will be celebrating the contributions that Robert West has made to Boy Scouts and Troop 505.  He is stepping down as Scoutmaster but will continue to be an Assistant Scoutmaster and Crew 505 Advisor.

Dinner at 6pm followed by a program.  Dinner (BBQ) and dessert will be provided.

All are invited, including family and friends of Troop 505 current and past.   Please wear your Class A uniform and a story to share.

Most importantly, please forward this invitation to everyone who may be interested.

 

Planning for the Future – November 30th

EagleServiceProjectAt our next meeting on November 30th we first have a Patrol Leader Conference.  Patrol leaders please show up 30 minutes early at 6:30pm.

During the meeting we will discuss 3 things.

1. We’ll have elections for Senior Patrol Leader and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader

2. We’ll present our research on the different trips we’ll take next spring and determine where we want to go and when.

3. We’ll talk about recruiting.

Please come ready to to talk about what trips we’re going to take next

 

Citizenship in the Nation Merit Badge (2 of 4) November 16th

An Army of FriendshipDuring our next Troop Meeting at the American Legion Post 6 on November 16th from 7-8:30pm, we will continue work on our requirements for the BSA Citizenship in the World Merit Badge will take about two (2) months over four (4) sessions during our regular scheduled Troop meetings.

Please try your best to attend if you are interested in completing this Merit Badge. And please remember to purchase your Citizenship in the World Merit Badge Series Pamphlet the next time you are at the Scout Store.

During this session we plan to complete any requirements that have not been completed in previous sessions.
